Chestertown Downrigging Mural

We recently created a 4’ x 10’ mural featuring the annual Chestertown Downrigging Weekend, a festival focussed on Chesapeake maritime history. The mural was painted by members of the Chestertown Crossroads Community, a behavioral mental health organization located in Chestertown, MD as part of our Artist in Residence program.

During the painting process the participants have been discussing their own family history in the local seafood harvesting, maritime transportation and Tidewater agricultural industries.

This mural is installed at the Crossroads Community Center in Chestertown, MD in 2023.
